Consultants meeting of the LIFE+ project
Between 15 and 17 December 2009 It took on the new facilities of the Madeira Whale Museum a consultancy meeting, inserted on the new Life project of the institution that is been ongoing since June 2009. The two consultants, Dr. Ana Cañadas and Professor Phil Hammond together with members of the project team, namely Ana Dinis, Cláudia Ribeiro and Luís Freitas reviewed and discussed several points of the methodology to be applied in the context of two major objectives of the project, ensuring collecting data to identify important marine areas for the bottlenose dolphin and collecting data for defining areas for whale watching and its capacity.
The meeting highlighted the importance of external input and discussion of ideas and perspectives of the issues to be placed on the project, leading to a redefinition of existing sampling protocols.
